Apply for a birth certificate

The Council in the Borough you were born in will hold records of all births, marriages and deaths that have taken place there.

Each Council has a Registration Office that you can call or visit to discuss getting a copy of your birth certificate.

You can also apply online for a new birth certificate by clicking here.

Whether you chose to apply on line or at a registration office, you will be charged £11 for each copy.
