What is Domestic Abuse?
NDAS uses the Home office view or domestic violence or abuse, which is:
"Any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless or gender or sexuality"
This can encompass but is not limited to he following types of abuse:
Psychological
Physical
Sexual
Financial
Emotional
If you are suffering abuse, you can contact your local police station by dialling 101 or by dialling 999 in an emergency.

NDAS begun under the name of Womens Aid in 1976.
Everyone has the right to be safe.
Call their 24/7 helpline 0300 0120 154, before you call ensure you are in a safe place. When they take your call they want to ensure that you are safe. If you are immediate danger please call 999.

Relate
All relate counsellors are trained to understand domestic abuse and the impact upon relationships. If you are affected by domestic abuse, you can talk to Relate about it. They do couple work and Victim/Survivor Work. To arrange an appointment please call 01604 634400.
Eve
Have been running a family refuge in Nortants for over 35 years. Their Restored Programme hwlps women of domestic abuse rebuild their lives. They offer a therapeutic group work session for women, children and families that help them to undertand and identify domestic abuse. They also help them to develop the resilience and confidence to change their lives.
