10. C2C Social Action

C2C has been successful in establishing a flagship Women’s Centre in Northampton since 2015.

We also facilitate a weekly language programme, for women to practice speaking English. This initiative enables non-English speakers to integrate more easily into the community and create greater social cohesion. This brings together women from different nationalities, cultural, educational and religious backgrounds who all have a common aim, namely to improve their English Language skills. This common goal shared by individuals from differing ethnicities cement relationships, generate community bonds and bring about a greater degree of understanding and tolerance. Learners not only study the English language and improve their language skills but also learn about UK culture and societal norms, which adds to their ability to function more effectively within their community surroundings and be better able to understand and participate in the society in which they live
