Sexual Abuse Support

If you are experiencing or have experienced sexual abuse, you may be feeling frightened, isolated and confused. Remember you are not to blame for what is happening. You are not alone, and above all you do not have to suffer in silence - help is available.

The following organisations provide information, advice and counselling in the Northants area:


Serenity aims to provide a comprehenssive service to men, women and young people who have been raped or sexually assualted.

The service is available 24 hours 7 days a week to anyone who lives in Northamptonshire which includes Corby, Daventry, Northampton, Rushden and Wellingborough.

How to access the service:  Via the Police, Social Services, GP or self referral by contacting them direct.  The service is completely confidential and awe they will not pass information without your knowledge or consent.  (As with all services a disclosure may be necessary if there is a safeguarding, eg child protection requirement, but thye will always try and discuss and agree this with you.)

Northamptonshire Rape Crisis

Set up in 1986 Northamptonshire Rape Crisis (NRC) is an independent charity that supports people who have been sexually abused, assualted or raped.

As they are a small independent charity they dont have the resources to be open 24 hours 7 days a week.  However if you call them during the following opening hours, they ll be there to take your call.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9am-3pm and 6pm-9pm.

Tuesday and Friday: 9am-3pm

Saturday 10am-12pm.
